When I saw her perform this song at the VMA’s last night, I was completely immersed in her sadness. There were no flashing lights, provocative dancing, just Adele and her raw vocals. I love that about her.
On a side note, performances are the only things worth seeing at music award shows nowadays. For the VMA’s, it’s still great that artists are being awarded for showing creativity in their music videos. I guess I’m still bitter at the fact that the ‘M’ in ‘MTV’ no longer stands for what it stood for, but I can only wish that the fact that they still hold the VMA’s is because they are still holding on to that ‘M’.
